archiebald
I believe. I have spent time on queens guard in the tower if London and there was some strange things going on there. Maybe that's just in the mind because of the location. How ever I have had strange experiances at work. Where I'm based, we use the old ww2 air craft hangers as our places of work. While everyone was on summer leave I worked on my car in there and heard, saw and felt some strange things. Not going to go into the details because you had to be there to know what I'm on about You was not in Leeds area by any chance at the old hanger? bruno22rf
Without boring you with all the details-never believed in "Ghosts" and spent many a pleasant hour mocking those who do. About 10 years ago whilst off work with Renal failure I came across the grave of an 11 year old girl in our local churchyard and wondered, had she been born in more modern times (she had died in 1810) if she could have been saved with modern medicine. After a while I wrote a short poem for her and left it on her grave then, in time, I forgot all about the event. A couple of years passed before strange events started to occur around the house-never anything scary but unusual. Something would go missing then turn up in the middle of a room, my son came downstairs one night and asked when the girl on his bed was going home because he couldn't get to sleep with her there and various other goings on that eventually culminated in me seeing the girl several times and the decision was finally made to seek help when both myself and my wife had a book thrown at us across an empty room-and it WAS thrown because it cleared a 5 foot long table before nearly hitting us. What struck me most in this whole affair was that our local Vicar was not in the least bit suprised when I approached him and he visited our house within days of contacting him. He told us that, in his opinion, the spirit of a child was resting in our house (I never told him about the girl) and that he would bless each room in an attempt to move the spirit on (he also added that, if he failed then there were specialists in nearby Oxford that he would contact to assist him) . Afterwards the whole house felt different-impossible to describe but just calmer and we have had no further events since. I don't expect anybody to believe me but the above is exactly what happened with no "poetic licence " added-it wasn't until after the whole affair that I remembered the poem and the girl in the Graveyard. With the greatest respect, writing a poem and placing it on the grave of a child who died 200 years ago is to say the least, a little bit of a strange thing to do. It suggests you have formed some sort of mental association or even emotional attachment with who you imagine her to be. Almost as if you wanted a connection. Do you think that might partially explain what you believe happened? Not having a dig by the way, just wondering if you think it might have had a bearing? Psyxologos
True story There is a legend about a house in Burnley. Every Wednesday, around midday there are some loud bangs to be heard from the front room of a house in a quiet Burnley street that has been laying empty since the late '80s. The legend is that this house used to be inhabited by a peaceful and righteous man whose only pleasure in life was the collection of old doors. He indeed had over 300 in his collection, spanning from the Victorian to the modern era. Alas, this peaceful (and righteous) man was plagued by a devious, evil and fat woman (if you can call her that) who devised a dark plot against this man. Every Wednesday morning she would park outside his house and shout abuse at him and his son. The peaceful and righteous man would not retaliate (as he is peaceful, are you not paying attention?) so instead he would go inside and kick a door in frustration. But that is OK. He had a lot of doors in his basement, so he kept changing them. To cut a long story short, legend has it that once the doors run out the peaceful and righteous man simply vanished in a cloud of sawdust. Nobody has seen him since. Only occasionally what resembles a size 10 boot going through a door can be heard. The local kids are scared to play outside this house. GingerCat
I don't believe in ghosts but I remember every Xmas mum says she is going to midnight mass, I call her out as she never goes any other day, this particular yearbmy brother in law says he will go with her, I'm on the sofa bed downstairsbwith ny rather attractive girlfriend (who annoyingly is a better shot that md) when I see and so does sphe, someone walk past the door way to the front door, I go over to take the Mick and no one is there I let it pass. A few weeks later a friend tells me unprompted they he saw someone come down the stairsb and thought it was me so followed it for it to disappear,. I mentioned this to the family to be told its Fred the ghost who goes down the stairs and out the front door quite often. Weird but true House was so calm and peaceful and no funny businesses ever took place, in fact being x forces I would say that forests on dark nights are the worst for the mind to play tricks. And it does play tricks. Edited June 14, 2013 by GingerCat
bruno22rf
Understand 100% where you are coming from Blunderbus but its not that simple. Bin writing (black ) poetry for many years about a myriad of subjects that enter my life-the one for the little girl was written when I had too much time on my hands and just needed to burn daylight-I don't think that I had thought about her between the poem and after our "experiences" when I sat back and tried to make sense of the whole affair-it was only then that I realised that there may be a connection. I was a true sceptic until these events and even now I question what happened but there are things that just cannot be explained that make me think life isn't as simple as we may think-like why do I simply cry when I see young girls on horses? or see a Spitfire? Now theres something that only my closest friends knew until now !!

Once your dead your dead The noises that were heard was a tuneful whistle, foot steps (I supose you could put that down to the building) and my friend said that he heard the sound of running. I have also seen someone walk past me in a old brown leather metal smith jacket, but when I have gone to look for them I couldn't find them. I had a radio on while working on my car on the other side of the hanger and every time you walk to close to it, it would go crakley and then be fine. I was welding the sill on my landrover and all of a sudden it felt like someone was looking over my shoulder at what I was doing, I was on my own may I add. I turn around quickly and there was know one there. Then 30 seconds later the radio went crackly as if there was someone walking past it and back to normal. I had a incident where I was locking up one night and the lights kept turning them selfs back on, I'm sure I turned them off 6 times and straight away they would come back on...... Maybe just dodgy eletrics but never had a prop since. I'm not trying to say the dead walk among us or anything like that, just saying there are things that have happened to me and others that we can't explain lol.
