rimfire4969
They are by far the van we see the most of on site down here. Buy something else for 5 grand less and more kit for the same age. Edit: But If you have the itch give it a scratch. Dead Eye Dunc
Avoid VWs at all costs! A Transit for half the price will be twice the van. I do know a couple of people who like theirs but many more that have had lots problems with them
steveyg
Hired a split screen a couple of years ago, spent the weekend with the kids in Newquay...they had a fantastic time and felt really special when everyone looked at the Van. Transit for work..VW for pleasure...do it,there is something really special about these regards Steve
HDAV
Mate at work just bought a transporter big mistake............. spent more time in garage than on the road since he bought it, cult status keeps residuals silly like landrover defenders..... but cheap to lease a brand new....... Fuji Shooter
Yes I was thinking of new one, they do a 4motion version now. i could use it for a couple of years then give it my lad once he passes his test so he can move his own drums and pa around. At about your age - that is a few years ago - got a 4 drive one , had it converted to a camper , kept it for 3 years, went all over Greece. BEST drive I ever had, never regret it. Go for it. castletyne
If there anything like my VW crafter then expect problems I'm amazed at how many people have asked me what problems I've had with it Edited July 27, 2013 by castletyne
houlsby
Just been all round France and some Belgium in my t4 camper. Loved it. I'm 25 and missis is 21 so not old or boring. We stopped at loads of the main surf destinations and had a right time. T5's are a money pit. My t4 runs on veg oil, it get thrashed and still running fine. 164000miles

Alex C
I had a T4 camper / race van for a few years. Cracking van that looked really smart. Had it lowered with 18 inch alloys and viper stripes. All the vindows balcked out. It looked really cool and got compliments from the every day man in the street to the director at work. It doesnt matter what you do to a transit, it will always be a crappy builders van !

You are right, you can't really lower a Transit and stick RS6 alloys on it and expect it to look anywhere near cool.

VW aren't the only tuned vans but even with viper stripes its still going to be a builders van no matter if it has a ford or VW badge.....
