wymberley
Bought quite a big bag and filled it with wheat. Oops, too heavy! Could anyone kindly recommend an alternative? Are the bean bag beads any good? Was thinking maybe a 50:50 mix. Many thanks.

moor man
Surely you want a bit of weight? I have used rice and lentils in various bags. The lentils were popular with the mice so I wont use them again.
steve_b_wales
I used dry sand. Heavy' ish, but very sturdy.

Just had a play as best as I could and discovered, give or take - where does your mrs keep the kitchen scales cos ours don't appear to be in the kitchen - that by weight/volume wheat and rice are similar and 21lbs is too heavy for hanging on the car door. The bag is not for shooting from as such but just to 'hold' the rifle while you recharge the mag or whatever. It'll also be supported nearer the front in the door mirror area which is the shooting rest.
the enigma
Cat litter works well. Just don't let it get wet or it'll swell up and leave the bag as solid as a concrete block. Or if it's just for resting the rifle on, polystyrene beads might do the trick. Edited August 12, 2013 by the enigma

steve_b_wales
I made a few 'cushions' to rest the rifle on a wall etc, by using old cloth bank bags, and stuffing them as much as possible with the material from an old duvet. I then sealed the end of the bag by using super glue and clamped it in the vice until it set.

Salop Matt
I have a mix in mine of plastic balls from a plastic injection moulding company locally and some wheat ! Its heavy for sure but works very well, if i want something light weight i use my air rifle HFT bean bag seat. ATB Matt
kyska
Mine has Cous Cous in it, I'm not sure how much they would expand if they got wet.
Imperfection
Mine has Cous Cous in it, I'm not sure how much they would expand if they got wet. Dont you feel tempted to eat it while shooting? Cous cous is delicious!
