Funnily enough I've spoken to Tony at Taclight about this today - he suggested removing the lens then the neck complete with Pill - try the tool that came with it & make sure the Pill is fully engaged - it needs to be to make proper contact (hope that makes sense) I'm going to try mine later.

Thanks everyone, turned the relevant bit half a turn and bingo!, all three modes. It is indeed an awesome lamp. New mount ordered as the fixed fig of 8 job supplied does not have enough movement in it.

A once round with insulation tape on each battery stops them rattling as well.

Used it in conjunction with the Ward D vision. Accounted for 2 rats and 3 rabbits. Nice mooch round the farm and saw a young badger.

Just got off the phone to Tony, and he said you cant get the tree modes with the red led. You can only get the modes with the white led & the lR, so will give it a go tonight.

Do you mean that you can't get the three different power levels, while using a red led? because if you are, then what you've been told is utter rubbish!

Thats what he said it was Tony, he said you can only get the three modes using either the white led or the IR.He added that they are bringing a new green where you can get 3 modes.I agree what you said if its all in the neck then whats it got to do with the led.Are you using the extension tube?

My Nite Searcher 800 has the extension to add another battery. It has a red led fitted (and I also have an IR led with spare neck) To get the three different power outputs, I press the on/off button very quickly, and each time, a higher/lower power setting is chosen. To keep a certain power, I press the button for approx 2 seconds. When the torch is switched off, and then on again, it comes on at the last power setting.

I must try this because I have the Red LED and I can't seem to get the different modes working. So I don't have to play with the neck, I just press the on/off button very quickly to scan through the 3 modes?

Is that pressing the on off all the way so it clicks, or just half way, and by the sounds you are not twisting the neck???
