Browning 425 clay hunter
Evening all. After reading SteveG's write up about his day with action pigeons I booked on and today was my first on the pigeons. Despite johns best efforts to get me a good bag I shot like a **** for most of the day. Missing some 'sitters'. After a few pointers from John I gradually improved and started to get a few. In all honestly I should of shot 20/30 easily. John explained his equipment/technique and lots of other tips to show me the ropes. I can definitely recommend johns days as excellent value for money and will be booking again soon. John said he will post the picture up as I'm useless with computers. Matt_
Had my first day on the pigeons with John last week..... Coming from clays to live quarry, don't get me wrong I'm a sure shot on the clays (started claying to get proficient before getting on live quarry) and wow what a different ball game it is... I feel your pain. Matt
Actionpigeons
You did ok for your first time on live quarry, the excitement always gets to people when they first start pigeon shooting. Look forward to seeing you next time. Here is the picture I took. All the best John Edited August 21, 2013 by Actionpigeons
JDog
If that is your bag you did well. As actionpigeons says excitement for a novice can spoil things somewhat, rather like buck or goose fever.

Browning 425 clay hunter
I have to be honest and say there not all mine. I had 7 pigeons in total. It took me half a day to get used to giving them enough leed to drop them. The numbers I'm not really fussed about, it was just nice to get out and get a few. I was really surprised at how different to shooting clays it was. Hopefully going again in the next fee weeks so ill take what I've learnt from the day and improve. I had a top day and that's all that matters really. ATB
