Advice on what "Short" air rifles for restricted spaces there

As above folks.

I currently use an Air Arms S410 for my NV work inside a grain barn to sort out the rats.

However, the S410 is just too long for the confines of the storage barn.

Normal daylight outs, the rifle is the dogs! And amazingly accurate! I couldn't recommend the S410 highly enough!

But i need a very short pcp air rifle that i could either px my S410 for. Or buy the new "shorty" and sell the S410 after on a forum...

Either way, I would appreciate some ideas on what very short air rifles there are out there at a reasonable price. Bearing in mind, the main purpose of the air rifle is just "ratting" and maybe the odd walk around the barns for roosting pigeons. The rest of the time I us rimfire and centrefire.

I appreciate small means a likely big loss in shot count per fill. But that isn't an issue. In fact, 20 shots per fill would be enough, as the dive bottle is only 20 yards away in the car....

I did manage to find a maybe, which is the Falcon FN8 model with a carbine stock pictured below. Maybe, a little too nice just for ratting? :hmm:

But i'd like a few peoples opinions on what is available out there that would suit my needs.

So what "short" rifle would you people recommend?

Falcon FN12, wish I had never sold mine!

Thanks for the reply. It looks around the same size as my S410. Or is there a Carbine short version of the FN12?

Any idea of the overall length? Lots of info online but not that?

what about bullpup'ing the s410?

That does sound appealing Red! However, it's likely to cost me extra money, rather than buying a bullpup and recouping the cost of the gun by selling or "swapping" my S410.

However, I would have the benefit of knowing my S410 is a "good-un", with no hidden problems...

Red, any idea of the cost of converting my S410? Or maybe you could point me in the right direction of a previous conversion that's been done that you know of??

I would keep the AA S410 and get a Crosman Ratcatcher for inside barns and pig sheds.

There`s loads for sale on Gun Watch www.gunstar.co.uk You will get one for about £100.

They are just the ticket for inside barns they do about 9 10 ftlb has standard. And very short.

They are very tunable up to 12 ftlb Loads of mods out there adjustable power.

Have a look on YOU TUBE there`s loads of vids. On tuning them.

They may be cheap but they pop Rats for fun.

And the best of it you get to keep your S410.

Ho and my BSA Super 10 bull barrel is 34 inches of quality from the butt to the end of the barrel.

And they are regulated so no power curve and well over 100 full power shots per charge.

If its only short range..and you need something very small, have you considered an air-pistol? Something like a Rohm twinmaster? its a PCP, 6ftlbs (more than enough at those ranges) and very accurate and compact. Looking online can pick them up for about £375 secondhand too...

Thanks for the info Andrew, but i wouldn't pay £375 for a new air pistol. No matter how good it may be! :|
