Big Mat
60 litre tank i think? Same size as on my 200tdi 90 i think and i get over 300 from a tank, not 100% sure as the mileometer doesnt work!
Fib new
My 90 had only a small 37 litre tank, so 230 miles could be ok. The gf's 110 has a 70 litre tank... Sowwww, 230 miles with 70 litre tank is V8 territory... Hope you have the small tank as well.
Daveo26
Ill brim it tomorrow and see what it does until its empty. I'm fretting a bit now
RED BEARD
i get between 150 and 180 miles out of my 300tdi 110 for £50/£60 worth of diesel.
Bows
Depending on how and where I drove mine I used to get 310-330 miles from a tank. I think it was a 59 litre tank.
Daveo26
£69 to fill Think I got about 55 litres in. I'm doing some mileage Saturday so ill soon know Edited September 18, 2013 by Daveo26
landy george
My old 200tdi used to average 30mpg but the 300tdi I've got in it now is more like 26mpg. I don't think a TD5 will any better than that. That's the price you pay for all that comfort & luxury.

It costs a fortune to run, its noisy, drafty and cold and i still like it
Bluebar
£69 to fill Think I got about 55 litres in. I'm doing some mileage Saturday so ill soon know Are you sure about the number of litres? 55 litres @ £69 works out at about £1.25/litre; Hereabouts it's about £1.39/ litre. £69 would buy 49.6 litres. You need to be sure of the figures to get a realistic cost per gallon or per litre. BB,

al4x
Well 230 miles from 55 litres is a whopping 19mpg that's painful if you go very far

aga man
230 miles sound about right to me for a 90. an engine remap could give a bit more but as said the tank is small and the 90 is low geared to revs higher than the disco. still a good few miles to go when the light comes on though
Fib new
Put a disco transfer box on my 200tdi. About 15% more for the litre. Also less noise.

Also less noise.I'm thinking about that, I've a mates who's scrapping a disco due to rot, mechanicals are sound though.Does it raise first gear so it's tough on the clutch? Fib new
It does a bit. But it's not that hard on the clutch as long as you don't do boy racer traffic light starts... My old 200tdi defender has a pretty standard setup -no crazy big wheels. It took me only a day or so to get used to the new transferbox. Makes driving on motorways a lot less stressfull... Off road it's like driving a standard defender -I only start using the low range a bit earlier than normal.
RED BEARD
i fancy putting a overdrive on my 110,but i'll have to drop on a second hand one as they are over £800 new.i don't think i can really go down the disco transfer box route as i've got big tyres and sometimes a big trailer on the back. al4x
Thank you our resident landrover hater I don't hate them I quite like driving other people's. just couldn't own one as I like my comfort and reliability

Paul223
Yeah it's a good mod, raises the gearing in all gears but unless your running big wheels and towing heavy trailer you'll not kill the clutch, easy to change too, just have a quick gander at the box mounts as very often the rubber is coming away and it'd pain half way through the job to run out for bits, plus you'll need some fresh oil
