dead eye alan
What next people will be believing that the world was created in 7 days, and if you tell some old bloke in a box your sins they will be forgive , I don't think they are more deluded than any other religion.. The Poles would have done that little job in 4 days and for a lot less money.
ordnance
the way i see it having a religion is very similar to having a penis: its fine to have one but!!! please do not try and force it on me get it out in public and most certainly do not force it on kids. Unfortunately the bottom one seems popular among some so called religious teachers.
henry d
1 - If we are created in his image humans would have been on the planet since the creation 2 - Yet no human bone or fossils have been found older than 4 million years yet theres plenty of dinosaur bones and fossils dating back 65 million + 1 - No we would not. 2 - Where do we start here? Oldest "modern human" bones are circa 40-60 000 years old, the 4M years old bones are from "human like" animals. Radio carbon dating anything is a hit and miss affair as carbon 14 can only go back as far as about 40 000 years ago. Scientists have sent bones from dinosaurs to be radio carbon dated and they have come back as 10-16 000 years old In June of 1990, Hugh Miller submitted two dinosaur bone fragments to the Department of Geosciences at the University in Tucson, Arizona for carbon-14 analysis. One fragment was from an unidentified dinosaur. The other was from an Allosaurus excavated by James Hall near Grand Junction, Colorado in 1989. Miller submitted the samples without disclosing the identity of the bones. (Had the scientists known the samples actually were from dinosaurs, they would not have bothered dating them, since it is assumed dinosaurs lived millions of years ago—outside the limits of radiocarbon dating.) Interestingly, the C-14 analysis indicated that the bones were from 10,000-16,000 years old—a far cry from their alleged 60-million-year-old age

goodo123
i guess were never going to agree, its a bit like two sides to every coin, non religous people believe using their heads, religious people believe in tails. the only certain way of knowing is being their during the "creation", we cannot yet travel backwards in time but maybe one day a bloke will pop from the sky who can. Just keep praying and he will come..... Maybe..... After a few years..... After a lifetime..... After millions have died from natural causes...... After we release a atom bomb killing millions in ww2....what he gave us?...... Just keep praying.... Lol
paul65
i guess were never going to agree, non religous people believe using their heads, As I'm not religious, I'd like to agree. Unfortunately, many, if not most, non-religious people are as determined to be narrow-minded and not think for themselves as are those religious people they mock. Kes
The two parts of your question do not seem to make sense, if we are created in God`s image what does human and fossil bones have to do with it? Really, can you give me chapter and verse? As your spouses? Dont remain a **** Henry, everything else evolves despite religeon - why not your sense of humour? Perhaps your god denies the existence of a sense of humour in relation to himself, if so he's a perverse god and obviously not one to be followed. I actually think Paganism has its place if you arent too stuffy about its precise practice. No ferrets this time.

paul65
How do you know that? Because I read. And as for non-religious people using their heads, where's your evidence for that? Not believing in something doesn't somehow make you a deep person. Most of them just believe something else that someone has told them instead. jasper3
Paul !!!! i expected better debate than that, but thankyou anyway , each and everyone one of us , is entitled to believe in what he/she wants too, its a shame when it comes to insulting one and other.. we can only read what man has written, so we can only believe or not believe in what man has said

I'm saying that just because a person in non-religious, it doesn't automatically make them enlightened and deep-thinking.
old rooster
A lot of evil is done in the name of religion, look at what the Muslim extremists are doing all round the world. Look at the wealth of the Catholic Church and the abject poverty that millions suffer in catholic countries. Catholic priests getting caught out kiddy fiddling when surely they should be the most trustworthy people out there, if you believe in what they supposedly do? History is riddled with religious based atrocity but very few instances of good being done.

If you are incapable of getting on in this world without a storybook tale to support you I feel sorry for you. You're sorry for ME personally? If so, thankyou but it's not necessary. I'm not religious so you can save your pity. As you asked me earlier how I know that there was religion before there were masses of people, I ask you how do you know that 'Religion, any of it, is IMPOSSIBLE.' ?
