welsh1
I wouldn't trust that lot an inch, they have consistently broken promises in the past, and now seem to be prepared to say anything to try and get into power, desperate party floundering and willing to sell their souls to get a vote. clakk
the people who banned hunting and have broken more promises than a used car salesman .i,d rather trust dracula in a blood bank
Gimlet
As far as a I can see Diana Johnson has had no experience whatever of firearms, shooting, agriculture, the countryside, conservation or anything else remotely qualifying her to comment on firearms licensing or shooting in general. She is a London barrister who has lived exclusively an urban life and appears to have spent much of her very short parliamentary career involving herself with focus groups and public sector quangos. If she is the sort of person Labour wheel out to try and smarm a few votes from shooters it says all we need to know about their sincerity on the issue. fern01
Her researchers will have calculated how many people shoot and fish and a strategy how to sweet talk them for their votes. Their potential effect on winning marginal seats etc etc . After the election they will shaft us all as usual
Gimlet
After the election they will shaft us all as usual They will indeed. We should never forget that it is an article of faith for Labour that they hate all field sports. They hate firearms. When in office they even did their best to deprive the armed forces of arms. They hate farmers, they hate private ownership of land - witness Milliband's proposal this week of a Mugabe-style land-grab for a state-sponsered building programme. As far as they are concerned, food is imported, farmland is for building on, and the countryside is the place where town-folk who have sold up to escape mass immigration go to get the shires voting labour. That will never change while night follows day.
KFC
Her researchers will have calculated how many people shoot and fish and a strategy how to sweet talk them for their votes. Their potential effect on winning marginal seats etc etc . After the election they will shaft us all as usual Her researchers will also have worked out ways of getting big business involved and privatising firearms licensing in order to shaft us and line their own pockets

keg
Fairly minor politician as well so if they ever got back into power, they could deny it was policy, blame her for saying something that they didn't agree with. I'd like to see Balls or Pitt the even younger say it!
