I know the simple answer is to speak to my FEO but has anyone out there had an FAC and the applied for a 5 shot SG. I have a SGC & FAC with both RF & CF calibres on it.

Was in the gun shop today and as my birthday is coming up and as I am fancying a go at some pigeons I wondered if anyone had gone down this route and what had happened.

There was a nice cheap S/H 5 shot on offer.....

You don't apply for a certain amount of "Shots" you just apply for your shotgun to be unrestricted - If you had a long enough magazine you could have a 50+ shots and still be within the law.

Go apply, it's normally granted as long as you've got a permission as it's easy to prove that you need it, and it can be used on any land that you'd otherwise use shotguns on too.

I had my interview with my FLO last week and he knocked back my request for a FAC Semi Shotgun. He said the only people that get a FAC Shotgun round here are gamies which is a bit of a pain as the local gun shop was going to be doing a mega good deal on a 5 shot Hatsan (about £60 :( ) Other than that he was fine with me wanting a .22 & .243 both with moderators so that wasn't so bad.

If you have good reason, then you cannot be refused an FAC shotgun. My request was backed up by a letter from the farmer, stating that his crops were being hammered by birds. My FEO advised me to get a letter from the farmer. As mentioned, I had no problem getting it.

Same procedure as me, granted no problem
