al4x
Is it after you have had it in 4x4 or just normally? Whichever way it's usually a sensor either got mud in or faulty

ostrea
I would think same as the Pajero. http://4wd.blogeasy.com/article.view.run?articleID=318776 Try slamming on the brakes while driving, if I have not used 4 wheel drive for a while this helps to dis engage. djgeoff
yep i concur re pipes, on suspect 4x4 function on my shogun mate/mechanic told me this is a common problem, he also said and pointed them out to me there two two solenoid looking devices that these pipes go to on the bulkhead mid center of engine bay, sometimes one or more of these can fail, but he says it rare. he also went on to say there is some sort of push rod ( i dont know what its called) above / mounted on steering rack that should move across when 4x4 is selected, if 4x4 mode is not used or activated now and again through the year, this rod will stick i am not a mechanic but my mate works on all makes 4x4 for a living so i can only assume he knows what he is talking about and up to now he has never failed me. hope this helps Edited November 10, 2013 by djgeoff

Guest rimotu66
I don't know if L200 has a similar setup to my Trooper but I finally sorted mine today after getting stuck whilst checking feeders On the front axle there are two small solenoid operated valves, one of them had a sticking shuttle/piston, I stripped it and cleaned/lubed it and alls good for now, I am going to buy a new one though and replace it. four-wheel-drive
The solution is simple just get a roll of black electric tape and cut off a piece about 1/2 square then turn the engine on when the light starts flashing stick the tape over the flashing light and your problem is solved. I have got a engine light showing on the panel on my jeep its been on for years I am sourly tempted to do the tape thing as it bigs. Spaniel
I had this last month on my pajero, checked on line and it does recommend that you should actually use the 4x4 drive occasionally to ensure it is working correctly . I selected 4x4 mode and reversed along the street in a straight line for a short distance and the issue went away.
four-wheel-drive
Mmm, dosnt help you get out of a muddy field though does it Ah but it is a good way to see if your 4 wheel drive is working if you get stuck in the mud the it probably is not working. Is it proper 4 wheel drive where you have to pull leavers or are we in to the new fangled electronic stuff that you just press buttons or turn knobs to get it to work.
