I've got nine shotguns in the cabinets currently, plus rifle wise Rapid II FAC .22, .17 HMR, .222, .243 and .308; mothing terribly exciting there.

I thought I would post my small British 20th century service rifle collection though - pictured with an imposter.

SIG 522 .22 LR semi auto,

L1A1 SLR, BSA manufactured, 1960, converted to straight pull single shot (so it is Section 1), with Walther .308 target barrel,

and Enfield .303 No 4 Mk II, Fazakerley manufactured 1954:

What is striking is that the year of manufacture of the Enfield .303 No 4 MK II and the SLR is just six years apart - just shows what a quantum leap the SLR was as a battle rifle whan it came into service 8) .

The SLR lasted just two days before I did a bit of 'conversion' work =\\\\

Before the start:

I wonder what happens if I take out this little screw here O.o ?

And after....some will like it better before conversion, some will like it better after. Me? After, thankfully .

Beautiful SLR. It's a shame though it had to be butchered into a straight pull.

I agree (although being biased i'd call it 'converted', not butchered).....but it's that, or nothing; and outwardly they look 99% the real thing.

Hi Mogs, yeah the bolt is standard like that from Stiller. I also got the Stiller one piece scope base which I thought looked the goods. It's a great action to use.

Cheers

Dave

It's an L1A3 bayonet [nerd mode on] - a correct SLR bayonet, but they were modified with a recessed catch as the earlier versions could catch on the release catch and dump the bayonet on the floor [nerd mode off/]
