Hi there!

Pleased to now be a part of PW. Makes interesting reading. There is a lot of expertise on here... I am an air rifle guy but sadly don't get out as much as I'd like. I now have 3 kids and a wife that... well you understand.

I am actually looking for some help. I run a Forest School programme for year 2 and 3 children. We try to encourage kids to enjoy the outdoors and explore what nature offers. Being a hunting type myself I am eager to share the delights of wild food but need a good/reliable pigeon, rabbit, pheasant supplier.

Any of you fellas (or ladies) local and could help me? Happy to pay going rate or come to some alcoholic agreement!?! My game keeper friend cannot always come up with the goods and nearest game dealer is over a 35 min drive from me.

Obviously happy to collect if reasonably close. Don't need many and not all the time.

Sorry for the essay!

Thanks for reading, advice and words of wisdom welcomed.

James

He's in Haywards Heath.

Pigeons are somewhat thin on the ground at the moment, suspected to be in the woods gorging on acorns. Rabbits are a possible and we have a game shoot on one of my permissions, I can ask the question if you can give me an idea on numbers and frequency (obviously only within season).

Oh yeah, sorry. Hi!

Hey thanks guys... nice welcome.

Thanks for positive responses. Great to 'meet' you all and establish contact with you.

For the record (in case anyone is interested), I have an Air Arms S410 gas air rifle. I love my gun.

It needs a service but as I am 2 weeks off being a father of three I don't get out like I (would like) used to, but I do miss shooting regularly. I happily take the pigeons from the tree in my garden but recently I think pigeons have blacked marked it and I am only seeing crows and Magpies. I really don't like Magpies!

I was featured in Shooting Times during the Summer (my proudest moment!) although in the picture I was holding a children's bow and arrow. Not the manly photo it might have been with a 12 bore! Maybe next time... The feature was about foraging and preparing wild food and associated activities that kids enjoy.

Enough about me. Thanks again for your help and warm welcome.

James
