John ( mag357 ) and myself decided to have a night at the penthouse as we had been putting bait out all week and Dave the farmer was ringing each morning to let us know if the bait had gone or not.

The last few days bait has gone so we decided to go last night. Decided to meet up at the penthouse about 8pm but I told John it would be about 8-15pm before o could get there.

Well i arrived in the farm yard at 8.20pm parked my motor next to John's and as i was getting the wellies on looked up and here's a lamp coming towards me i though thats good of John he's come to carry help my gear up into the penthouse for me.

Asked him how long he had been there he said about 15 minutes he had been talking to the farmer for quite a while gone up into the penthouse got settled in. out with the 223 and archer thought he would have a quick scan round,

spotted a fox walking up the field towards the bait station straight away NV on back of the 223 BANG one dead vixen…when i thought he was on the way to help me with my gear it wasn't it was just to get a torch so he could go and pick it up..

1 down within 5 minutes Dave the farmer walked up the yard to chat to me, he said John's here he's gone up into the penthouse i told him he was out in the field getting the fox he had just shot ( one happy farmer ) he didn't believe me at first till John appeared with a dead vixen..

Right I'm off lads get stuck into the sod's there loads about just leave them here i will get rid of them in the morning.

So we got settled into the penthouse John was poring out a cup of coffee i got my envis out had a quick scan and there was another fox just walking up the field towards the bait station quick whisper to John "charlie on the way "

grabbed my 223 NV on the back gun up on the shelf the fox had moved a bit further up the field so could not find it at first but John had watched it with his archer and directed me to it cross hairs on it just sat looking our way BANG dead dog fox this time..

Checked the time it was only 8.40pm we stayed till 10.30pm nothing else showed so decided to call it a night we were happy with one apiece….We went into the field and collected the dog fox then stripped the tail's of them and away home for an early night..

That makes the total 13 since about august from the penthouse…It was certainly worth building we even have a gas fire in for when it gets cold..:lol:

The top one is the vixen that John shot ...

Well done guys top arrows, there's still a quite few about. I built a tower on a farm a while back and took about a dozen from it but mine was in the yard. I cleaned up there and now have to work a lot harder for them out in the ground. Sounds as if you have a cracking setup

there heater and all (whimps) Any chance of a pic of your home from home. :good:

Bloody hell that's a bit posh, Mine was only an old scaffold tower and a couple of camo nets.

That must of cost a bob or two, or did you both work in a timber yard.

I hope the foxes keep coming for you after all that work, should last for years though looks a proper job.

it didn't cost that much most of the timber we got at cost thanks to a mate who has a sandwich \ coffee shop we didn't spend as much as we thought we would...

for years we have sat out on plastic covered bales and frozen to death so the farmer let us use anything that was on the farm he has even offered to run a electric cable in but John said we would manage with the gas fire and stove for a brew now and then..

I would have let him run electric cable in then we could have had heaters set on time switches...:lol:
