Big Mat
It is illegal to shoot game on a Sunday in England, lets hope you were somewhere else. Given that he is talking about shooting wildfowl, which can be shot on sundays in some counties, i'd say you need to read more carefully! fenboy
It is illegal to shoot game on a Sunday in England, lets hope you were somewhere else. I do find it a little annoying when people who preach the law do not know it themselves.

delburt0
Maybe he should brush up on his timetables but in his defence the do both have wings . . Seriously I think that it should be in all shooters interests to learn shooting dates and species, also different counties authorisation for weekends etc. I myself cannot comment as although I have never been deer stalking for any types I do not no the seasons. I feel you cannot have to much information if there's any space in the grey matter going free.

Penelope
He may have got a little confused perhaps?? Although in certain parts of Yorkshire it is illegal to shoot wildfowl on a Sunday. Before the passing of the wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, Orders prohibiting the shooting of wildfowl on Sundays could be made under the provisions of sections 2 and 13 of the Protection of Birds Act 1954. Although Sunday Orders can still be made under Section 2 (3), none have been made. However, some Sunday Orders made prior to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 have not been repealed and are still in existence. They have the effect of making it illegal to shoot wildfowl on a Sunday in the following counties (or parts of counties in existence before the 1974 re-organisation):Anglesey, Brecknock, Caernarvon, Carmarthen, Cardigan, Cornwall, Denbigh, Devon, Doncaster, Glamorgan, Great Yarmouth County Borough, Isle of Ely, Leeds County Borough, Merioneth, Norfolk, Pembroke, Somerset, North and West Ridings of Yorkshire.
