Recorded is a bit of a waste of time tbh. All it means is that it gets signed for the other end if it arrives. If it gets lost before it arrives at its destination, there is no way of tracing it. Special delivery is a few pence more, tracked and has to be signed for also. So if it doesn't arrive at the destination, there's a chance of finding it.

As they say, proof of posting is not proof of receipt!

Yes, I always use confirmation of postage and sometimes SIGNED FOR..

Phoned them once, they said they did not have the information on computor, I told her it was recorded, amazing how fast she came up with, "oh yes it hasn`t been opened yet, 6 months down the line. and I always keep a COPY with the date at the top. (Just in case)..:lol: .

I take mine to the Hq everytime - not far and if its lost in the internal mail !

Yes, I do this as I live quite close to HQ. But on the envelope, I put ' By Hand. To gate security at 10-30pm/whatever, March 31,2014/whatever'. It may seem paranoid, but I don't trust the post! Also, if you can get a variation in the in-tray first thing on a Monday, it's on the doormat Saturday!
