otherwayup
I don't go Pigeon shooting very often (once or twice a year), but I had a few hours on a drilled field on Thursday afternoon. Managed twenty one, finally beating the eleven birds I got with Bakerboy on my very first Pigeon shooting outing he took me on about three years ago. Followed it up on Saturday afternoon with forty three. This was my first experience of shooting a drilled field and what a difference; they just kept coming. As opposed to all disappearing after the first shot as has always happened before (over rape).

otherwayup
Two good outings. What crop had been drilled? Barley apparently, on the Monday. The neighbouring farm had drilled Beans recently as well I believe. Farm in north Chelmsford area. The birds had been feeding on Beans, the grain and little round seeds about 3mm in diameter with a light green coating, whatever they were (coating may have been vegetable matter).
