tjm160
Pleasure, pleased to help and best wishes if you decide to try one. I wish I could recommend based on comparison but have not had the opportunity to try others. My decision had to be made entirely "on paper", but based on my experience with since, I have no regrets, indeed, quite the contrary. Traztaz
you do realise that 23-27 Bd is half as loud?
welshwarrior
Nice looking rifle 23-27 db is a massive reduction on paper in real world turns I don't know but they make a massive difference meaning I can still fire a CF rifle with ear defence. tjm160
Thanks Daf, a Sako A7 with Meopta ZD 3-12/50, Harris Bipod and "Dougster" (from SD) hand made canvass sling. The Cyclone Compact advertised sound reduction is 27-31db.
welshwarrior
A7 is that your 308?
tjm160
.243, the variation for .308 has only just come through following completion of DSC1. I'm looking to take up the slot with a new 2014 model Sako 85 Synthetic Black once funds allow. The .243 will then be transferred to dedicated foxing duties and ultimately, NV. I should add, as much as I love my A7, my one small gripe is the magazine capacity and no possibility of a third party given the configuration/fitting design. Three may be fine for deer, but it's rather a pain for foxing in the dark. Edited April 29, 2014 by tjm160
welshwarrior
I beat the A2 is better suited IMHO to 243 just finishing up my 243 once that's done I'll be buying a new mod for it.

Tim I have compared mine to mates A-tec CMM4, Wild Cat Predator, Wild Cat Evolution and my mates old T8 on a 22-250, the T8 being the only one quieter, but it weighs a tonne and looks crappy (rusts to)
tjm160
Ahh, that's great, thanks Reggie!

Thunderbird
OP:- I'll be trying my Aimzonic Plus out ASAP so I'll report back.
njc110381
OP:- I'll be trying my Aimzonic Plus out ASAP so I'll report back. Perhaps the OP would like to come to another range day and have a look? I appreciate it's a long way, but you could always tie it in with visiting friends?
Thunderbird
He would be welcome to come, if he can pass the initiation. How many werthers originals are we up to now?
njc110381
He's already passed it. Before your time though perhaps? Unfortunately my new favourite mod doubles up as a priest that could see off a red stag, so I don't think it would be of interest. It's quiet though! Dunkield
Perhaps the OP would like to come to another range day and have a look? I appreciate it's a long way, but you could always tie it in with visiting friends? if you could arrange for it to not be raining and the wind to be less than 30mph I could make the journey Although I would have to drive past Bisley to get there which seems slightly ironic. Coincidentally, my one and only friend is coming down this afternoon, I will discuss with him over a post stalking pint. What make mod did you have that banana'd? and is that the same make as Drovers?
activeviii
Yes, it was the same make, sort of serves him right as he was taking the pee. 3 weeks later spudnic2 was launched

Dougy
They certainly look nice, there were a few at the Catton shoot with them on.
welshwarrior
I use mine for the first time at Catton Id wanted the lighter quieter Hardy gen 4 that I've used before. Do you know what I really was not disappointed with having to get the aim sonic.
Dunkield
I read too many reviews of the Hardy being a bit on the noisy side, which forced my decision to get the Aimzonic.
Beardo
I look forward to seeing it on the morrow
welshwarrior
I must admit I found the Hardy very good never ran them side by side would have liked to, I'd only heard an Aimsonic on a 270 it was ok, but on my 243 it's a gem.
