eccles
My little mate rang yesterday afternoon to see if i could take him out with the rifle to shoot some rabbit on his farm. Told him bit windy but would be up about 6 ish. Arrived just after six his dad and his granddad in the yard, had a chat with John and Edrid big friends of mine. They said Dyfan had been waiting he came down from house with a big grin he's a great lad. Got the HMR out of the car loaded it up walked to the edge of yard ,looked down to the field below about 30 rabbits feeding. We have put a wooden pallet up right leaning on the fence , put the rifle on it told him to shoot 1 by the hedge. He took aim and dropped it clean. Few stayed out so told him drop another 1 which he did nicely rest of the rabbits went into the wood below and into the hedge. We walked down the track to the bottom so we could shot along the edge of wood. We found a couple of plastic sacks to sit on grass as it was wet. A few rabbits came out for their last supper over the next half hour. Dyfan shot well missed a couple but not by much could see the grass being hit . His furthest shot rabbit was a good big steps 137 which he made me fetch as well little monkey. Started to rain so packed up. He asked if we could go foxing tonight told him if dry we would, he loves foxing and not bad on the lamp. my turn to shoot for a change. atb Terry

Frenchieboy
I raise my hat to you Terry for taking the "young un" under your wing and having the patience to help and encourage him. He certainly looks well pleased and could not have a better "teacher"! (Better watch it though Terry, it sounds like it will not be long before young Dyfan is outshooting you mate) Top marks to both You and Dyfan! I started the grandson off a few years back and he is out shooting us on a weekly basis. He's 14 with a much quicker reaction time to us,by the time we get the gun up to shoot( bang )bird falling out the sky. Then we hear a little chuckle coming from him then the dreaded why didn't you shoot that.LOL Edited May 11, 2014 by THE AD
