lakeside1000
Eight o'clock in the evening, just watching coro on the box , when a movement in the garden caught my eye, in a small ash tree were seven pigeons, 5 full grown and 2 fledglings tearing the new ash sprouts off as fast as they could, I know its tempting but my neighbours are funny about finding bodies even if they are pigeons, so I thought I would shoot them with the camera instead. If it stops raining long enough tomorrow I might go up the farm and see if there are any about, in the meantime im just watching them destroy my tree, enjoy it while you can pigeons , tomorrow's another day. DEADLY PLUMBER
I have the same. Since March their has been loads of woodies in my back trees. I have at least 4 pairs nesting within 50m from my house. They land on my back lawn and the Magpies. My young Cocker tries to go through the back door to get them. But I can't touch them. I live on a modern estate on the edge of town with the fields 200m away. My whole estate is full of woodies all breeding now. The cherry trees out the front of my house are a real draw for woodies right now. On my permissions their are very few birds nesting out in the farmland woods. They seem to be breeding heavily in semi urban areas in my area. ?? What are others finding ??
Fuddster
woodies are enjoying the buds in my garden-I've declared a sanctuary for them in my garden as I'm pretty hard on them otherwise.I know, I know, call me a woolly wufter but I'm happy to see them flitting about. the courtesy doesnt extend to magpies and grey squizzers though=the air arms 510 side speaks very softly. atb fudds

Whitebridges
We've had a few Tree Sparrows in the garden of late so have been feeding them. The woodies have been loving this and helping themselves from the feeders. There's nothing they can't do in terms of hanging on to the bird feeders and gorging themselves. There are four that are as fat as butter, so much so they can hardly walk!
