r1steele
No wonder I've never been much of a shot on clays, I've been using the wrong scope.
loriusgarrulus
By the time you have focussed the scope on the clay it has gone. Takes me long enough to get focussed on a paper target or metal rat with the air rifle. Do they do scope mounts for your side by side or over and under. Les*1066
Yes, I know loads of people who use scopes. NOT! Quote: To increase accuracy, some clay pigeon shooters like to use rifle scopes,, which are also known as telescopic sights..

loriusgarrulus
You could always adapt a pair of binoculars. Top mount it for your side by side and side mount it for your over and under. You could then use one lens for each barrel. Zeroing it in might be interesting.
welshwarrior
I find long crosser much easier with a mil for reticule scope can believe none of you have tried it! In fact I shot a 1000 yard pigeon as big as a dog with my 410 today but I was using 9g of no1 shot ;-)
joe soapy
Surprisingly, a scope or dot is very effective on a shotgun
lordripon
I've been practicing with my scope, but I am struggling to dial in my BDC turrets before the clay hits the floor.....getting quicker with the parallax adjustment though ! Afastr
The only gun that I personally know comes with a rail for a scope is the Armsan A612, and I'm pretty sure that's only because you can buy a slug barrel with open sights for it. neil w
That, clay looks like a UFO.
kingo15
It must work cause you can have one on call of duty

Most semi autos and pumps can have a rail fitted or have built in for the US market as they use slugs for deer.
joe soapy
interesting to see so many rubbishing something they have never tried.. For the occasional shooter , novice or just plain poor shooter like me a red dot or scope confirms correct mounting, shows up a flinch , lack of follow through and poor trigger control.. Also gives a point of reference relative to target that i can actually see
loriusgarrulus
Must take the Daystate down the clay ground and have a go with the scope on it. My shotgun hasn't got any scope mounts. Wonder if a well placed .177 pellet will smash a clay.
