kingo15
Do you have a very good friend or family member close by who has a cabinet and sgc? Or talk to her nicely and explain they are not dangerous when stored and used correctly and safely.
viking
I'm sure I could talk her round. But to keep the piece. I wondered if I could leave the barrels in my safe at my dads. And have the rest of the gun with me in a safe when I move. Sure I read that somewhere once. My dad doesn't have a SGC thought..
DazzJo
Just do what I did and said "sorry love I come with baggage did I not mention" ....and it worked haha
merseapaul
As long as the address of storage fit criteria and only you have access to guns ie your dad's house, assuming he has no criminal record it's okay even if he dose not have license. And also you can keep the entire guns at your dads provided the above conditions are met
viking
So I can move from my dads. And leave my guns there it the cabinet. That would solve all my problems

KFC
Get a .410 and give her a go at inanimate targets. That's what I did and, after the first shot, my wife said "Ooooh! don't the cartridges smell nice!" I knew I'd cracked it. She's come to HFT with me. Shot a Rabbit and a Pigeon with my 12g, potted and eaten both, and she's potted a Rabbit with my rifle.

viking
Is there anything on the internet to back this up. I can't find anything.. Iv just emailed my FLO but probably won't hear back for a day or 2. Thanks. Lee
happy.plinker
Put them in storage with a trusted pal until your at the farting in bed stage,by then they're usually ok with most things and she'll be fine with them in the house. viking
This is the reply from the FLO. Good afternoon The cabinet should be fitted where you are living, even though you are only moving 500 yards down the road. The guns and cabinet are your responsibility as the certificate holder and should be at your own address. Please contact us with your new address details when you decide to move. Thank you. Sounds a bit sketchy to me. Is it ideally should be. Or yes they have to be with me at my new address if I move?
mossy835
sounds like they cant stay at your dads house, but must be with you where you are going to live with the girl friend, give basc a ring, if your a member.
viking
Not a member. Iv emailed them back pointing out that doesn't sound like a definite answer. To me them saying should be, sounds like it could mean ideally. Not defiantly.
panoma1
Sorry bud but your making a rod for your own back for your whole future relationship by giving in to her!! I understand the pressure you are under but if shooting is important to you, hold your ground! If she is making 'no guns' a condition of you moving in she is attempting to control you! comply and you will likely be a doormat forever! A woman is attracted to a guy for a particular reason, once they get into a relationship with you they start trying to change you, once they have changed you they no longer fancy you!...........because you are no longer the guy they were first attracted to! If Confucius didn't say this he probably should have! lol!
viking
Never have been, never will be a door matt.. As Iv said. What I say goes. Simple as that.. But I just thought if there was a way round it then it would be worth exploring.. I'd not be giving up my guns or shooting for know one.. viking
Latest email.. Yes, the cabinet and gun(s) have to be with you at your new address. I used "should" twice as this is grammatically correct i.e. "should" meaning you "must" fit a cabinet at your home address as the cabinet is the sole responsibility of yourself as the certificate holder. It "should not" (i.e. must not) be left elsewhere because of convenience. If this is not clear, you are more than welcome to phone this office to discuss. sitsinhedges
If the FEO knows your girlfriend doesn't want guns in the house it's going to make things awkward. Your lady needs to understand it's no more dangerous than knives in the kitchen drawer. You're on a rocky road already.
