Did the cat turn your hat that way around on your head or is that a normal thing to do now days? (Plus you left the sticker label on) lol sorry couldn't resist.

So the newer gun looks like a Stoeger X20 Supressor with standard 3-9X40 scope that comes part of the kit? I should know, it was my first air gun too a while back :-).

I don't want to be seen to be the idiot here, and I'm not having a pop at all, just saying:

I have a neighbour a few doors down with a staffy, wears a fat funny and I can often see his underpants when he leaves the house (Usually those cartoon strip type ones, odd) and listens to his music loud at times, why not - free country and all that (although it does incense me when he wakes my kids up at 9pm with his car music blaring for a min before he can muster the energy to drive away from the house) - he fits into a stereotype and by christ if he got an air gun I'd be out of there before you could say Jehovah. He may be a decent chap (And It would seem you are) but I wouldn't trust him with a pointy stick let along a air gun.

Perhaps your neighbours are stereotyping you into a category and worrying about a gun being there incase it's for the wrong reason?

Maybe the neighbours aint antis at all, maybe with all the curtains and settees in your back garden they have made a complaint because they dont want a weed smoking neighbour who's back yard is worse than steptoes and has a bull/rotweiler cross breed running round,

Food for thought eh,

Yea I'm only saying, I'm not one to judge (Except with those hats or cartoon strip pants, those two things really do annoy me).

It's just that with all best intentions we all stereotype to a degree. It's like when you see somebody wearing tracksuit trousers for any other purpose than exercise or house-lounging and they are walking a dog and it's not a child eating hell demon then you double take and are a bit surprised.

Disclaimer: Not saying all staffs, bull terrier things, rottweilers etc... are bad, but when they are brought up by a person walking like they still have the hanger in their coat and a brick up their behind and talking like they are Bob Marley's best mate then they aren't usually crufts sort of material.

Perhaps get a slightly more professional looking set up, i.e targets with catch tin things, put up a nicely fabricated back stop whilst shooting and then if the police come they'll see it's a good and well kept set up (definitely better than an upturned sofa with bed sheets over the garden).

I sometimes zero my sub 12ft air gun in the garden, and I often tell the neighbour and ask if her son fancies a quick go whilst I'm at it - maybe you could try that too?

That crossed my mind too- can the neighbours see all the stuff you use as a backstop?

Okay now its gone from people being helpfully, kindly pointing stuff out to people now trying to take the Michael, lets get a few things strait since i will from this point ignore any comments of people trying to be nasty or just having fun at my expense.. doing exactly what one of you said could have been happening stereo typing and being critical of something they clearly couldn't even be bothered to read the hole post,

Backdrops are temporary but extremely reliable. I've had the rifle less then 4 days for Christ sake i will as i said be joining an air gun club, the other thing is swell my council are lazy five put the sofa out the front and they didn't collect it, i have no transport to get such a huge thing to the skip. its been out back a few weeks until better arrangements, i then saw to use it as a temporary back drop.. before i had the metal targets just using SMK targets.

So.. Im not a bad person,.. the hat.. well i ware my hat due to a bad haircut in that picture backwards so the cat could sit on it.. my dog whose also seems to have been stereo typed is a lovely dog whose great and on top of that and all in all as i said this has been cleared up.

I should have known it was to good to be true to post on a forum and not come across some form of troll.

Again i thank the people who helped, people now trying to stir the pot i will no long reply to ive said my peice.

Regards,

Matt.

It only occurs to me to say that if you'd bought a 12 gauge, you'd have probably had to wait longer than four days to try it out. Maybe some patience next time will save you a spot of bother.

I don't like the fact that people criticise what they don't understand either, but you do have to live next to these people, so it looks like the club is your best bet.

+1 but untill i come on here and posted this i wasnt even aware of the one in hanslope which seems to be the only one near enough to get two without spending a bomb!, I appreciate what your saying and if people where less silly about it and asked me geniunly id have explained why they where in the garden to beggin with.

Anyways ta again, I didnt even know you could own guns in the UK with LR's ... untill i ventured into the gun shop to buy some air gun pellets and had a chat with the guy, im hearing 6 months in a gun club and then apply for a liscence or somthing?, im realy not to interested in 12 gauge as i have no where to shoot one atall and i dont think shooting that in my back garden is going to get me any praise ;) ;) ;) ... joke incase anyone didnt quite grasp that one.

Todaloo,

Ive had enough for today, been a early start and not a great one i must admit, Speak soon.

Please if anyone else has anything serious to say or anything atall that could help id perfer if it was done in a private message since i am now going to ignore posts on this post since it seems to have strayed from what i orriginaly posted about.

Many thanks,

best wishes / regards

Matt.
