Jonnyni
This one is better with sound because of what the operators are saying, and will be a hot topic in no time. It pretty unbelievable but none the less so real. SHOOT
red_stag88
All I have to say is, that is horrifying.
Deako
****!! pretty horrible, but don't suppose they felt much
red_stag88
Except for the chap under the truck who lost his leg. Did you see a gun? I didn't. They were probably our troops. The second guy waved a flag. Was he surrendering?
Teal
Did you see a gun? I didn't. No, international law does state that you cannot execute a wounded combatant who poses no threat. But how could the helicopter crew know he was no threat? Maybe the all the WMD`s that no one can find were in his pocket.
Deako
Also, I thought the Spam's were exempt from International laws?
leon
looking at that video its no wonder the yanks shoot the british they don't even wait to find out who it is!
Cakie174
My view on the situation is that more worringly. The vehicle on the left is a tractor in a field (note the hot exhaust and the mower it is towing). Most agricultural activities take place during daylight and the optics on the apache are more powerful in visual than thermal. Therfore they must of had eyes on these people. Were did you find this Jonny? Not something that i can imagine they are keen to be showing.

Wookie
Sick ********. I can't believe that they shot the bloke they had injured. There are only three places that you can shoot a human that will put them out of a figt: Head, Heart and thigh. That guy had a leg missing and was _no_ threat to them and was trying to hide under the truck. They didn't even have weapons. ******* murderers. Another good reason for them to be tried for war crimes. I mean, yougive them a gun and they think they're god. They'll shoot anything. My disgust for some US soldiers is growing again. Elma Fud
Disgusting, how can they justify killing unarmed people. Murderers Here is a link to AC130 gunship in Afghanistan http://www.factsofisrael.com/en/files/ac13...afghanistan.wmv It’s quite a big file but well worth it. red_stag88
The white splots must be the body parts and blood if it is a thermal camera. What they were saying sickened me "Yeah, I saw that guy blow up earlyer," and something about body parts flying about. I can grallock a deer without so much of a flinch, but that has made me feal ill, even if it is black and white.
Cakie174
The white spots are the hots spots like the exhaust and the lorry engine. You tend not to get that much of a hot spot from the human bodies appart from the head however in the gulf at greater ranges every thing is hot. Wookie
Unless it's night Thermal imaging is a wonderful thing when the ambient temperature drops below 5 C. wookie
Cranfield
When I first saw that video clip, it was part of a longer sequence and was supposedly Al Khaida members in Afghanastan, attending clandestine meetings. There is another clip of about 20 men leaving a building. A US Rangers unit (probably 2 men), had them under observation and called in the helicopters. I believe the "spotting" voice you can hear, is an on the ground observer. I,m suprised at the indignation. Who said war was fair.
MARK 1
holy **** that is so bad, no wonder there's been so many troop's killed in friendly fire those guy's did'nt give a flying **** who they were . poor ******** never stood a chance
Vermin Dropper
It may sound controversial but, we were at war ***, as said war isn't fair and no one knows the lead up to this incident, or any events prior to it.
red_stag88
But shooting the injured bloke was illeagle. You have to admit that!
Vermin Dropper
I agree, when I first watched it the clip stopped when they shot him for the first time. Or, playing devils advocate, you could say they were finishing the job they messed up the first time
red_stag88
They tryed to cover it up, listen he says "Shoot at the truck, but aim a little higher" So he could say he just missed the truck.
Pike
Don't have a sound card but shocking none the less. Still, they did have a go at bombing Yorkshire the other day - quite a drastic way of trying to stop the next series of "last of the summer wine" don't you think?!? BIGJON
Is it really illegal to shoot injured troops??? Could that mean using a machine gun would be illegal??? If for example the first round fired in a "burst" might only cause injury and subsequent rounds fired actually kill.... Makes you think!!! Cranfield
If there were any serving soldiers reading this Forum, I,m sure they could acquaint us with the current "Rules of Engagement". I suspect that shooting wounded enemy soldiers, is one of the many "grey areas". I don,t think any of us really want to know what the SAS and other Special Forces get up to. Just be grateful they do. I am.
