northeastshooter
well we normally have a police bashing thread on here so I thought this was worth posting. we received a phone call at 9am on the house phone this morning from the local police force asking if we had been victims of a crime last night (at first I thought it was a con or prank call), I replied saying no the house is fully alarmed and we hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary last night or this morning having not long been up and giving my daughter a bath we hadn't chance to go outside. we were asked to check the cars bit strange I thought but as I looked out side I could see the front passengers door on my car not shout right. so as I went out side I could see my glove box and open and the compartment near the handbrake open with my satnav missing. the police had picked someone up at 5am this morning with my satnav and several items belong to other people while outside I was handed a set of keys found by my neighbour ( thinking they were mine) looks like who ever had been in my car had dropped them . so the officer I had spoken to on the phone came round at 10ish had taken a statement and took the keys away, I'm now waiting for forensics to come and dust my car for prints. all I can say is excellent work from Durham police force no damage was done to the car it looks like we must of forgot to lock it last night a mistake we are not going to make again. five other cars in the street were unlocked but only ours hit its normally a nice quiet street

happypig
Register your property on www.immobilise.com It's the online database that the police use on the street.... Checking the sat nav in possession of the thief would have revealed it to be registered to someone else. Anything with a serial number can be registered.... spinach
Yes it's there job and when they do it right and do it in a timely manner why not praise. Everyone's quick to complain very few moaners praise when the job was done equally well. Miserable bunch, perhaps it was the extra mile or politeness but northeast shooter felt like praising them over his experience. What was your reason to be dull. Mind you never argue with and idiot etc. John
