  had all the Diplomacy and some and still kept on cutting heads off. Our international task force should read the Israeli hand book on diplomatic responses to terrorists, wherever they may reside/hide.

Nuke em say I. With some of them special uranium bullets and a small tactical nuke, just big enough to create another inland sea should suffice, well every cloud and all that.

Which is why we should change our methods if we do respond. These sub human things are not worthy of being considered human, we should disregard the Geneva Convention, forget human rights.

If we end up putting troops on the ground(which I think we will) then they should be allowed free rein to kill whenever and in whichever manner they see fit with no fear of prosecution.

I totally disagree with this. If and when this happens, it can only serve as 'proof' in their hands that their 'cause' and methods are justified.

These extremists already have proof in their own minds and ideology that the methods they are using are justified. Did not the killings on the ground start before the airstrikes? possibly not the western victims but for sure the peoples of Iraq and Syria. No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Their methods are terror weapons, killing, raping, kidnappings and now the horrible murders of foreigners. I don't believe this will stop if they achieve their objectives.

It remains to be seen how many bodies will be found where these people have been found/defeated e.g. what happened to the 3000 woman and children kidnapped a few weeks ago? anyone heard?

Edit = missed a few words out.

What I'd like to know is what was the reason for, and the government's objective, in preventing the family from 'publicising' the kidnapping. We know full well that nothing short of extermination would deter these godless heathens from doing whatever they've a mind to.

Wymberley, I really do not know, best guess is the UK government opted for low profile but even that guess raises the question why.

High or low profile its not going to stop these godless savages from carrying out their agenda.

The more I hear and read about Islamic state the more I tend to agree with Figgy's solution. post #76.

I think the guy that did it needs to be " Publicly Executed " .

Agreed - shame it cant be done by degrees, a bit at a time and very slowly so that anyone considering the same might think twice also, he deserves all he gets. Plenty of Arab allies would do that for him.

I agree, the perpetrator needs to be found and severely punished, but that is only one person and the real source needs to be dealt wit.

I maybe speaking out of place here, but, why do we not let the professionals deal with these type of situations, rather than individuals trying to do good. Whilst it is admirable that people want to help others, aren't they also being a little selfish towards their friends and family by putting themselves in such an extremely dangerous situation?

Don't get me wrong, this is seriously tragic what has happened, but why do people feel so strongly about going into these dangerous situations?
