JDog
In heavy rain like yesterday pigeons may not feed all day. I never saw one on the wing here. In showery heavy rain they will sit up when it is raining then set out as soon as it stops. A good time to go decoying in times of inclement weather is after a spell of two or three days of heavy rain or fog when pigeons have not fed much at all and when they will be ravenous. Fog / mist is a good example. Went out Sunday morning, misty as hell, set up pattern, thought this is a waste of time and it was not a bird to be seen, then sun came through about 11:45, the mist lifted and the birds were coming into the decoys brilliantly. Only snag is I had started to pack up by then.

NickB65
If it is light rain then they will still feed but you may see less numbers. Heavy rain means like me they will only venture out if they have to and like me and you if we have several days of rain then they will eventually venture out but only to eat and then dash back. pigeon controller
as JDog says, I was told that pigeons can go three days without feeding so if it rains for two days look out for them topping up on the third.. This time of year they can feed in the woods and not have to fly the clue is in the name WOOD Pigeon. We see them feed ing on elderberries, beech masts etc but if you look at the ammount of berries about at present they may stay in the woods for a good time once all the stubbles have gone to seed before they venture out on to the rape.
