russdy
Wondering if anybody has a pair of these and can give me some information on them. Are they fully waterproof like lowa boots or are they not upto the same standard ?? Cheers
figgy
Depends on the model you go for. Some have a sempatex waterproof lining others are unlined. If you oil any leather boots regular they will be waterproof. Both my wife and I plus a couple of mates all have various models of Altbergs, best boots I've ever had. Tonyc
Best boots I have had, made to measure for under £200 three years ago, still as good as new despite constant use , very waterproof.
johnphilip
My alt bergs are over 20 years old and have had some very rough treatment, had then resoled once
welshwarrior
I've had a pair of defenders for years now waterproof robust they've been all over the world. Yes Altberg have resoled them for me but I see that as a £50 service on a tailor made pair of boots, they out lasted my Lowas and Handwags by many years. Will only replace them with another pair but brown this time.

TIGHTCHOKE
No brown looks better with tweed Oh I agree, I wonder if that was why the Military changed over?
welshwarrior
Oh I agree, I wonder if that was why the Military changed over? No it's just an attempt to get sniper and recycle platoons to wear the same boots as the rest of the Army
