njc110381
grey squirrels are directly related to rats ughhh A bit like potatoes being in the same family as deadly nightshade. Don't knock it 'til you've tried it! I'd be keen on trying it on the BBQ. I've had it, but was quite young and don't really remember it. Can't be that bad if I've forgotten about it! mossy835
in the states when we shoot them we BB/Q them reel good.

njc110381
Full of fleas? I'll go along with that, covered in them. You don't eat the fur though, maybe that's what's putting you off? Rabbits have fleas too

Madcowz
They are too small to bother with preparing and cooking, so we just lop off the tail to give to my fly fishing neighbour and the rest goes in the bin. /Mad
SNAKEBITE
They make very good eating indeed. Not as much meat as a rabbit but if you have 2 or 3 then thats a good meal in anyones book! Don't knock it until you have tried it, after all it is all too easy to kill them isn't it? Why waste them?
Stealth Stalker
Don't knock it til you've tried it, have a look at Hunters exellent pinned method of dealing with em. SS
Conygree
I have shot them and as they cool down the fleas rise up to the outside of their fur - puts me off as the fleas bit like hell, but must give them a go some time.
SNAKEBITE
Skin them whilst warm though as they are well tough once they are cold! The skin is like leather.
young airgunner
il second what snakebite just said. i have skinned them both warm and cold and doing them warm is definately easier. i must admit yes it is a fair bit of work to skin them but why not eat them. if your gonna shoot them, atleast try them once, i tryed some last week and it was quite nice next time you get one i recommend trying them. just wrap the meat in bacon, cover in tin foil and roast cheers james
