Gun Safe Lights!!! Bugging Me!!!

I got a Liberty 12 Gun safe and got automatic LED lights for them which cost me over £100 in total as they are really good ones but they are doing my head in! First i got double sided clear tape and stuck them on. (5 in total) And they were brilliant! really improved the look of the safe and great light. In the morning i looked in just to remind myself of what a good job i had done only to find them all lying on the floor!! At this point many men would have gave up but not me i! I seen that it was coming of the carpet as it's carpeted interior so thought what tape would be best for carpet... So i got double sided Carpet tape and stuck those on and i was impressed! Definitely way better hold on the carpet! I thought there was no way they would ever budge! Then i was woke at 2 in the morning by a bang and it took me a while but i then realised it was one of the lights!!! Sooooo Annoying!!!!!!

I am now wondering if Uni-bond Double sided Permanent tape will work? i don't want it permanent as batteries may need changed but im pretty sure i could pull it off!!!

Also what about Velcro tape? Would that work? Anyone have any experience with this?

Any advice is welcome? Thanks in Advance!

No nails!

Personally I would stitch one side of hook and loop tape to the carpet, then adhesive to the other side onto the back of the lights.

Carpet tapes are generally to bond the underside to the floor or a joint strip. The gravity helps the carpets stay down. If the lights are to be permanent and you don't need to remove them to change batteries etc! You want a glue like paste to smear into the pile of the carpet. I would also cut a broom shank to hold it against the carpet until the adhesive cures!

I would use no nails personally. I would score the back of the lights to offer more grip for the bond.

In mine I have no carpet! I can just wipe the back of the light and the ceiling of the canlbinet with meths, then bond them together.

No don't think there any residue.

Cutting out a hole in carpet for lights would be a good idea only with the Liberty safe it has 1" of Powdery Fireproof stuff. (prob too far in for head to detect motion unless directly in front)

Also im not sure what is meant by the hooks and im not too sure if it would work with the lights i have. See Below.

Hook them through the carpet like you would a pin on your clothes or use some birthday badges and stick the LEDs to them ha ha

Yes! Got it sorted! Finally! For anyone else mounting lights to Gun safe carpet.

Put Double sided tape on the lights.

Then put the back of the Velcro to the double sided tape on the lights.

Then just stick onto carpet.

Holds Great!

But also pulls off and removable and then just stuck on again so it's re-usable!

Really Didn't think velcro would work! But it Did! Yes!!! :yahoo:
