JDog
If nothing else joining BASC will give you insurance cover whilst engaged in shooting activities.
lister1
If your looking at wildfowling, join a wildfiwing club because most include basc membership.
steve_b_wales
The only one that I have seen in the media, when shooting related things come up, are BASC. They have also helped me on many occasion to get a stupid, imposed condition on my licence, overturned. For those reasons. and more, I will be staying with BASC. neutron619
I heard it put quite well the other day. If you want "member services" - i.e. help with applications / conditions, information about shooting and current legislation - join BASC. If you want "political services" - i.e. a bunch of people who will stand up for the countryside and shooting sports, who have the ability to lobby government effectively and who will counter some of the "anti" stuff being cooked up by various other organisations - join the Countryside Alliance. All will offer insurance, so join the one that you care about most. I'm a member of both of the above and the BDS too. I want my certificates sorted if I have problems and my questions about 10-bore steel proof answered (BASC), an end to "legislation by twitcher" (CA) and I think deer are fascinating and tasty (BDS), so that's why I've joined those three. OJW
I joined BASC because their very focused on shooting, others do a great job but spread themselves more thinly across multiple areas. They are fighting several battles simultaneously. BASC has shootings back. Good outfit.

Suffolkngood
I'm a BASC member and have been for several years. However, I recently forwarded to them a copy of a very biased anti game shooting article that appeared in my local paper which advised people to call the printed Animal Aid number to find out how to oppose shooting wildlife. I was told it would be passed on to the Press Dept and they would contact me.......Guess What? ............yep heard sod all from them. Chrissaddler
Obviously membership only lasts 12 months so you can review it again then. Join BASC If you want to do any of their courses as you get a discount, join the CPSA if you want to do any registered shoots, otherwise I think it's much of a muchness and it's only the insurance you're after so just pick one and review again in a years time when you have more idea as to the direction your shooting is heading. demonwolf444
Worked closely with BASC and they have my support all the way. Very passionate and knowledgeable people from my experience. No matter which organization you join i would ask you to support Firearms UK Association, which is an association that aims to protect gun ownership in the UK by encouraging unity and positive action from within the community. All you have to do is "like" or "follow" them on social media. Its not a membership organization its just a group of passionate volunteers that try to rally the shooting community to different issues or threats to all shooting sports and work with other organizations to achieve the same. Konnie
as said you HAVE to be BASC member to shoot wildfowling club grounds even on day tickets, so if wildfowling is your sport and you only ant to join one it has to be basc.
