Jaymo
At least it will stop any 'glare' from the ir illuminator in that horizontal position...... Edited March 5, 2015 by Jaymo
Blunderbust
Having not seen one, I might have it wrong here and apologise if I do, but have you not got the IR mounted on the bottom of the XT? If that is the case you will need bloody high mounts or an extremely short barrel, LOL.

Blunderbust
Get what you are saying mate, it might be that you need an off set mount, it just seems strange that they have the supplied IR unit at the top of the XT. As I have said I have not actually held one in my hands so have no right to be giving suggestions, it just looks as if it is not right. Having looked again, I think that your pic is taken from the top and therefor can understand why the makers have set it so that your cover opens in the opposite side from the IR unit, which in reality is no good if one wants to fit a more realistic IR kit. TBH I cant understand why they go to all the trouble of making a good unit to then spoil it with **** IR. Hope you get it sorted mate. maxie
You could mount the IR torch on the scope tube with a figure of eight clamp. It beggars belief that it doesn`t flip up out of the way.
Mini Magnum
Davyo , Push behind the hinge with force as if your trying to push it off the lens, it will loosen, then wiggle the cover off by pushing a little bit at a time opposite sides.. you can then re-position it Edited March 9, 2015 by Mini Magnum

snow white
Like I said it does come of just tight. I took mine of straight away as the last thing you want in the dark is a lens cap
Davyo
Came off (re positioned eventually) had to spay sone silicolne in,to get it to budge.
snow white
If you put doubler on it you will have to rezore it again some think to do with the lens it goes out of zero.I have the original day cap that was suppled with gen 1 it as a daytime lens in it come in handy to zero in daytime.
