belly47
Whilst sorting out my cupboard under the stairs I came across the old lamp I used to use whilst lamping rabbits with a friend on foot with the shotgun approx. 20 years ago as you can see it needs a few spare parts, bulb, lense, I think the batteries are well shot by now too. a couple of mates and I have just got a new permission with plenty of rabbits so I was thinking of fixing this lamp and having a walk about like the old days with shotgun. is it worth repairing do you think? I have a Deben ultra spot rifle torch which could maybe do the trick instead of bothering with the clulite but I cant even remember what the range or width of beam was with the old lamp. am I right in thinking these old style lamps will not compare well up against the new torches/lamps Has anyone got any spares they no longer need or use? let me know what you think please belly Edited March 11, 2015 by belly47
steve_b_wales
Well worth repairing it. I use one with red and IR filters, and have had great success with it for many years.

belly47
thanks for the replies my next question is regarding replacement bulbs I have 2 pictures below, is there likely to be any difference in these bulbs? is a bulb a bulb lol belly
steve_b_wales
I would buy the bulb from Cluson, or just make sure its the same rating/number if buying from elsewhere. You could try the projector one, but I'm not sure if it would work, or last very long.
spandit
Personally, if I were fixing it (which I probably wouldn't) I'd buy the cheaper bulb but for the price you'll spend you could buy a new LED torch
bumpy22
best lamp made used mine for years. lightweight strong and not too much light that scares everything away in the next county. if you unscrew the handle the thread that's left can be fixed to a cluson scope mount. very good design

belly47
Yep, agreed, but it beats £14 + VAT + postage. It certainly does, which is why I was looking on the bay as the one I saw has free delivery just not sure if it is the same.
