ack-ack
Two people were slung out of my course, one for bad toood and one for profanity. I must admit i thought it was worthwhile. I really noticed the difference in fuel consumption as i was doing nearly a thousand miles a week at the time. He was also a secret cross dresser, just not as secret as he thought, but that is completely beside the point. Quality. Laughed my lad off. grrclark
some of the posts show the attitude that cause accidents I don't see that. There is a dismissive attitude to patronising courses, but not towards safety.
Mentalmac
My favourite bit was when the class leader went through everyone asking people to introduce themselves and say what we'd done to be there... He did this really funny 'head shake' like doing 35mph was a heinous crime and we all had to look like we agreed. It was ok though, some useful things and useful stats and snuff videos and aftermath pictures...

jimmydean
Showing pictures of fatalities due to excessive speed in built up areas would change attitudes but I have to say the typical 'knee-jerk' reaction to casualties these days seems to be to reduce the speed limit. There aren't many roads these days where you can even travel at 60 MPH - never mind the 186,000 miles per second that K was doing, thats why he didnt get a ban - he was starting to come backwards. kdubya
some of the posts show the attitude that cause accidents speed doesn't cause accidents, inappropriate speed does, trouble is as some posts on here testify, most people cant differentiate the two, and the revenue making speed oops safety camera system exploits that fact. throttlemonkey
Yes officer, I was quite aware of my speed, I just wasn't aware of you! You're only speeding if you get caught! Speeding fines and points are really for poor observation. Did I say that out load😂😂😂

Did I say that out load **** who got me was hid behind a bus shelter, congratulated me on my reflexes and awareness then pointed out that he had already got me, it was a straight dual carriageway mile after mile of farm land either side and not near a black-spot or buildings early hours of june so broad daylight not another car on the road apart from Mr must get my targets met, safe as houses, but hey ho that's life when you meet a uniformed tax collector, by the way the clerk of the court nearly choked when he asked how I would pay the fine and I said I will pay now, said no not geared up for that! will £100 a month be OK?

ack-ack
Speed limits are only guidelines aren't they? Yes, they are guidelines used by the gavvers to ascertain whether you are speeding or not.

KW I made the ones who captured me work hard for it and got a good few miles down the road before the caught me. Both of them were decent sorts and we had a good blether, but I was still put forward for the consideration of the court, the dirty rats. AVB
speed doesn't cause accidents, inappropriate speed does, trouble is as some posts on here testify, most people cant differentiate the two, and the revenue making speed oops safety camera system exploits that fact. KW I actually agree with KW for once regarding inappropriate speed. However, how does one measure it? I have a pretty good sense of appropriateness, have never been caught speeding and once topped 150+ on a UK road. The problem is if the limit is 70 mph what is appropriate on a clear road in fine weather? 80, 90, 100, 150? And in whose opinion? On that basis I am happy to live with the consequences of breaking the limit and getting caught.
