grrclark
One of the luxuries afforded to those afflicted by ignorance and narrow mindedness is that they live in the belief that their strongly held opinion is enlightened and visionary. It suits the lazy of mind.

Fisherman Mike
looks like UKIP are finished slipping away on polls with Lib Dem support rising Very much depends which poll, where it was conducted and by whom.. Ukip is essentially Conservative but with more extreme nationalistic views.. If reports in many of the periodicals are to be believed many Ukip voters have realised its folly to vote for a minority party and risk the Labour party being returned, or worse still a Labour SNP alliance and so will be returning to the Tories just for this election... It appears they see it as the lesser of two evils. I believe when it come to the crunch and they are in the booth with that pencil on a string in their hands they will say to themselves..." do I XXXX it up for everyone with a vote for a minority party and risk another coalition or do I vote for the party whose ideals are closet to mine and return a majority. After all the country is doing pretty well at the moment, not everywhere admittedly but the majority of the population are happy with their lot currently. You keep believing that mike, the reality is that people will vote UKIP and the more labour and the Torys spout on about it the more are turning to UKIP ,the main parties are clueless. keg
Sadly, neither UKIP or Labour has a sound financial plan and to me, that's more important at the moment than the immigration and European issues which Farage cannot do anything about straight away anyway. grrclark
This is becoming a predictably dull discussion thread now and terribly cyclical. Seeing as it is a UKIP thread, what is your prediction/guess for number of seats that UKIP will win and the overall share of the vote. My guess is 1 seat (2 at most) and 13%

achosenman
I will confess to voting Ukip on two occasion's. Both times it was out of exasperation because the main parties would not discuss the elephant in the room. I'm not that enamoured with the Conservatives and I can confirm that the Victorian Mill Owner mind-set is alive and well and in a boardroom near me. Despite the fashionable hatred of unions, they are as sorely needed today as they were at the start. I have voted and it wasn't Ukip. I don't mind giving the two main parties a kicking, but I'm a Turkey and I'm not about to vote for Christmas by the back door. Whitebridges
Why even think about the tactical voting options. Read the UKIP Manifesto. This is what i'm voting for. Well thought though ideas and polices that will get Britain out of the mire. http://issuu.com/ukip/docs/theukipmanifesto2015/5?e=16718137/12380620

Seeing as it is a UKIP thread, what is your prediction/guess for number of seats that UKIP will win and the overall share of the vote. My guess is 1 seat (2 at most) and 13% I think they will probably do well with the share of the national vote...every few years there is an uprising of surprise which then falls away. If UKIP have a future in this country I opine they should concentrating on making inroads into local government where they can probably make a tangible difference in representing their supporters. Its very difficult for any minor party anywhere in the world to try and run before they can walk.

UKIP tells you what you want to hear, and already know... That is a very salient point Biggsy, they do tell people what they want to hear and that is why they are popular. Sometimes though it isn't about what you want to hear, it is about what is achievable or what is most important to the majority. Setting that aside, fair play to you for voting the way that you feel is correct, that is the most important principle of democracy regardless of what anybody else thinks about your choice. It is your choice and you should follow your own belief system. There is already a thread running for that http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/310330-election-forecast-result/ I had forgotten about that thread Rob. I want to stop unneeded unskilled immigration yet would allow true refugee status to those in genuine need,am I Racist? I want an Australian system policy for immigration on a points basis, whereby immigration will be a benefit to this country, am I racist? oh and lastly do you actually understand the term Racist?
