CollioureII
Hi All, 4 months ago bought AA Prosport FAC in walnut.......not getting on with it....decision made I am getting rid of it,,,,and getting PCP My options are either AA PCP or Weihrauch PCP. So I'm thinking either Hw100T in walnut or AA S510 Xtra FAC ultimate sporter. I'm not too sure about the laminate stock but it's supposed to be a great gun.....I'm probably edging a bit on the HW100T walnut as it's regulated and just looks better Appreciate any feedback
chrisjpainter
I don't know of a single gun that has a worse reputation as an FAC gun than the HW100! It's amazing as a sub12 gun. But from what people have said it's an endless tale of woe when it's got FAC power in it. I'd go with the S510 Extra. If you're after a regulator, it's easy enough to find someone to whack one in! Zetter
Echoing what Chris said above I would go for the Air Arms as a proven FAC rifle. The HW100 seems to have major accuracy issues at FAC power for some reason going on a lot of reviews of them.
Tom0159
or you could go for a HW100 sub 12 in .
chrisjpainter
or you could go for a HW100 sub 12 in .177 if you have to have the FAC for an air rifle anyway, I'd go with something with more oomph. Plus, if the Super Sporter xtra is the same as the S510 xtra, it has a variable power system, so you can set it to sub 12 when the need arises Edited May 11, 2015 by chrisjpainter

Sha Bu Le
I have a HW100 S in sub 12 0.22 its an excellent tool at that power (11.6) but everything I've heard from PW members says it's a bitch in FAC. Hang on a while tho Evo will be along extolling the virtues of Daystate which gives you a third choice assuming you leave hw100 on on your list, personally in FAC I would scratch it off Edit = Another thing to consider if you go for HW100 is if you don't get on with it you may have a job moving it on. evo
Sha Bu Le, AA for me over the HW in FAC,, but you know me,,huntsman classic running at 30ftlb is the ultimate tool and nice and light also or an untouched Rapid
sitsinhedges
I have a s510 extra FAC, it doesn't need a regulator as it is consistent anyway but the power adjuster is too coarse to be properly repeatable so I choose what power I want to shoot it at then use a dab from a glue gun to fix the knob in position as I found it moved sometimes and you never notice until you miss some rabbits but can't understand why. Every Rapid I have ever come across has been "touched" ! I'd agree with evo, Huntsman Classic is light, well balanced and sweet to shoot. Or if you want more shots, find a decent Air Ranger. I wouldn't bother with a wibbly wobbly barreled Air Arms

chrisjpainter
Of those two: HW100 every time ! at FAC levels? really??
Salop Matt
The AA extra is ugly as with twin cylinders and the blueing on AA's isn't great. I would take the lower shot count and get an A&M cylinder on it ! ATB Matt

Salop Matt
Even so, HW100 and treat it to A&M cylinder ! I use my huntsman at 30ftlb and it gives 28/30 shots which is plenty for hunting ! ATB Matt

unclemicky
I have a AA 410 Extra , very accurate , I like it a lot , I've also had a HW 100 sub 12ft lb , fantastic gun also very accurate , but I would never have a HW in FAC
