After I had a good day with Motty on Wednesday ,I decided to have a drive around and see if I could find any pigeons about .I Have had my eye on another field of broccoli and thought it might shoot ok and as my brother has said he was available for a shot if there was anything doing ,as he has been very busy at work for the last couple of years I was looking forward to a bit of banter with my brother .He said he was busy in the morning but could join me in the afternoon. So I set up with a couple on the rotary and a few shells down the roadway and made a hide in a shallow dyke ,it was a bit awkward with the wind almost coming into my hide but with the expected flight line this was the best option . Then first birds to appear were very cagey and as I was using the Hushpower 20 I wanted them to give me decent shots and it was quite slow and it kept raining on and off . My brother finished earlier than expected and turned up with a friend in tow Motty, seems they had bumped into each other at the garage and my brother invited him to join us .We made the hide bigger but the birds were to cagey and as im the Sargent major I made them remake it smaller, this helped and a few were decoying well but most were giving us some testing shots and to add to the fun my brothers gun has the facility to double discharge.so any high birds or crossers met with 2 ounce of lead 6s, we all had a go and had some cracking birds each. We finished with 90 on the clicker Had a great day with loads of mick taking and banter.5df5e32d-a902-45d4-9633-c079588375ed.jpgcheers lads what its all about for me.

A good afternoon with your brother and the uninvited friend. Greens in that part of the world seem to be it as far as pigeons are concerned at the moment.

Yes often happens at this time of year as the rape is to big ,barley isn't quite ready so greens is an easy option for them ,its not very often that you are allowed to shoot over them due to the supermarkets fear of a pellet getting into the crop !!!

yes not bad for June, I didn't shoot to much as im a gentleman ,must say im starting to like the Huspower 20 very much and did a nice eye wipe on Motty . I wont be out for a while as im away on my hols .

Can't beat a nice eye wipe , to be fair you get plenty of opportunities with motty

I think a 20 gauge hushpower will have to go on my shopping list once everyone has stopped relieving me of my money !

You and your eye wipes!! (Don't listen to him Adrian!)

It was a good few hours, despite the birds not committing. I enjoyed swapping guns and especially enjoyed firing off the 'Double Retard'.
