Scully
Anybody have one? If so can you get crispy chips from it? I've used olive oil on homemade chips, sunflower oil with the same and now sunflower oil with frozen chips. Results are the same, carp soggy but burnt round the edges chips. Am I doing something wrong?
BrowningB525
I get better results with frozen oven chips, but they seem to go dry as opposed to properly crispy. I personally don't rate them at all. They make a good roast potato though, but that is about it.

Scully
To everyone else, thanks for the advice. Will try it with less in but am not impressed considering what others have said about them. An expensive mistake it would seem. Will see what else I can cook in it. Carman06
We have one. Had the original and upgraded to the 2 in 1 couple of months back. We use it every day. Love it. Get crispy roast potatoes, crispy chips. It makes a differance how you prep them.

Northerner
I get the best results when the chips are soaked in slightly salted water for at least 1/2 an hour before cooking and properly dried off Edited June 19, 2015 by Northerner
Carman06
Yeah we wash chips of starch then completly dry off first. Opening actifry every 5 min to let moisture out.

harrycatcat1
Not being funny but what are the supposed advantages of this contraption? Regards H
Carman06
The idea is to cook in little to no oil but still able to use oil as contents are turned and rotated.
Mike737
We bought my daughter one a year or so back, and she swears by it. If using oven chips, she adds no oil, if using potatoes, she cuts the chips, washes them to remove excess starch, into the contraption with the measured amount of oil, 30 minutes later perfect chips, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. No danger from spilled oil from a deep-fat-frier, house doesn't stink like a chippy. Mike.
