grrclark
I had one and thought it was great, sold it to a mate and he still has it and thinks that it is great. A lot of gun for the money. I would buy one again quite happily. I sold it because I was impulsive and bought something else I had lusted after for a while and needed to make space. sitsinhedges
I've got a 20gauge, it's my go to gun over my 12g Urika and I've put maybe 7-8k shells thru it over the last couple of years. It has been faultless and I would buy another tomorrow. Excellent value, IMO.
NorfolkAYA
Cheers for the response guys, am looking at buying a brand new one, am I right in thinking they only do one model and that is the field?
sitsinhedges
Cheers for the response guys, am looking at buying a brand new one, am I right in thinking they only do one model and that is the field? I was shooting with a friend who owns the 12gauge version today. Just like mine it has auto safety so would be considered a field model but neither are particularly light with the 20gauge at 6 3/4lb and the 12gauge has to be 8lb, so Sporters in that regard. They all seem to have great wood for the money too, far better than a entry level Beretta or Browning that costs twice the price. Neither are lightweights really. PS, Franchi are owned by Beretta now and I think the quality equals the Silver Pigeon I used to own but the design is different. I heard the barrels were made at Beretta in Italy don't know about the rest but well made either way. Crumpler1991
My father in law bought a brand new one for £650 from lyngs massingham Nice gun for money never had any problems but they are really stiff new And that was a sporter
blasterjudd
Well the entry level Franchi and Bettinsoli guns are both out of the same factory and are identical in every way to one another except finish on the action. Hold the 2 guns side by side and u will see what I am saying so u have another option but both are heavy guns..... look nice guns for the money and as others say Beretta woodwork is a bit shoddy these days not as good as franchis.... Both owned by Beretta as well

Both owned by Beretta as well Are they actually both owned by Beretta or just work close to them, I was under the impression Bettinsoli just made some parts for Beretta, but these big multi nationals buy up the small guys all the time to cover a wider range of customers, but as a 6 year Bettinsoli owner i must admit i cannot see any quality difference between the silver pigeon and mine until you get to the £2000+ priced guns No knowledge of the Franchis new guns but old ones were very nice, all three makes have a long background in gun making

Guest Wilksy
That's all very interesting I didn't know they are all under beretta, Bettinsoli is like swearing in shooting circles yet franchi come with nowt but praise, I love my Bettinsoli so it nice to hear that really there's not much between them, and bettinsoli's bad reputation is probably just snobbery! James1983
I love my bettinsoli does exactly what I ask of it so can't really grumble. I didn't know there were in the beretta family so this thread has taught me something new. Means I can leave the beretta comb riser on it now
Chris1314
To the guys that own these guns. Do they hold up well to moderate clay shooting use. In the region of 150 shots a week?

All I could say is that in the six months I've had my bettinsoli it's not missed a beat I've shot it every week but not 150 but I'd say an average of 100, time will tell if stays that way.
