Cut grass.

Cut grass on dark is always worth a try. The wind had dropped so I used my cheap electronic caller while I hid behind a round bale.

20 mins later one shows up, I thought it was a cub as I watched through the scope but turns out I was wrong, it was a good sized heavy dog fox.

109 paces straight down.

Yep,same here underdog, small grass field back of my house, was baled yesterday.had a look at dusk last night,2 foxes mooching about, squeaked one it to 30yds before stopping it with the .22rimmy.had another look tonight about dusk and nailed the 2nd one with the .17 at about 80yds.2 less to stop worrying my chucks!

Looking at the size of the mag on your picture you must of used a .17hmr as well?

Good Job u . and the dog got to stretch her legs :) ...

I use one of those cheapo callers sometimes , do you let yours run for a while or just give it a few seconds every now and then ?

I just let it run bud, terrible racket but they do come and have a look bless them.

Yes, humble 22mag.

i used to have a 22 magnum pal,,was very accurate to,after a while a found it to big for rabbits but some times to small for foxes as i shoot a lot of moorland and on the night you may need to take one or two long shots, but ye fair plat to ya,,they are a good fox stopper at sensible range, well done..
