Another night in Crewe at reggies

Just got back from a good night at reggieguns..... He couldn't make it but his lad ginga could so we arranged to meet and have a look for foxs round the shoot so off I trecked over to there's.

Within 5 mins of getting out the car we had stumbled upon a fox but it was giving us the run around....so a bit of calling and sneaky man overs and it was safe to shoot....bang no1 in the bag.

Gingas turn to shoot next we sat up on a embankment where I'd previously shot a cub and vixen but know there was another cub to catch up on when we spotted a fox just under 300 yards off. After trying to call it in with no avail ginga tried to take the shot with his .22-250...with a good chance of taking it out as he sits there shooting crows out to those distances on a regular bases he was confident on hitting it.... But two shots later it was running for the hills.

10 minutes later I glimpsed a fox sat at the bottom of a hill 80 yards off. So ginga took the shot and missed that too.

Did he get some ribbing. I took it on myself to ban him from shooting his gun for the rest of the night.

So had a walk down to the farm where the pet rabbits had been killed. And had a wait and call.

Ten mins goes by and out pops Charlie we were not expecting him to come from where he did never less the light hit him and he took off over the hill.

A brisk walk over the hill and rifle on sticks and he stood long enough for the nosler to do his job. 2nd down

It's now 3am ish so started to carry them back towards the car when I scanned the field where ginga had missed and there's a cub at the far side. So off the stick and 3 is in the bag.

Ginga walked over to collect it as now he's my fox retrieving bitch and within 5 mins another came straight out the same place bang that's down 4 in total.

The night was then done we had to carry the 4 down to the barn and leave them there.

Here's a pic
