Rutlandwilly
Got some duck we put on a pond as points. They have grown really well and look healthy. But theybwont fly. I have let the gun off and flagged them but they get about a foot off the ground and land again. Last year we did exactly the same and they flew really well. malantone
feed them away from the pond, start on the bank and everyday get further away, eventually they will follow u, get them about 3 to 400 yds from the pond block their retreat and they will fly home. they could be too well fed or fat. widgeon man
In future as said if you feed away from water, and preferably not by hand, then they should be a it more 'wild' skittish and take to the air upo seeing guns or beaters etc.... Less contact the better
pestcontrol1
Failing that fire the dog in to them a few time

rjimmer
I've known this happen when there was a hawk/falcon perched in a pylon about 100 yards away. The duck just would not fly while it was there. These were wild teal, not reared ones.

Tomo-1
Unless of course they are becoming tame or from non flighty stock. Some ducks just wont fly. If not, time to get stock that will..
