Underdog
By the size of the grain I would think munty or young roe.

team tractor
I can see a variation going in soon . I've yet to see any deer on this farm at all but I've shot munty only 5 miles away from here. I have a pallet hide only 250 yards from these prints so looks like it's worth a sit. I've had this ground 15 years and only seen 10 foxes all of which are dead now and hardly any bunny the last year. The grounds only passed to 223 which I have . 39TDS
You see one footprint on a patch of pretty barren land by your description and you want to shoot the culprit before you've even set eyes on it? I saw a set of footprints on my land once and the thought never entered my head. Have even see the deer regularly on another farm of mine and have never thought to shoot it. Each to their own, not having a go either.

When I say barren it's full of pheasant , pigeon , wood cock etc Edited October 12, 2015 by team tractor
39TDS
I understand the getting excited bit, I was the same. In my case it turned out to be a pure white deer that had escaped. It is still about and it is a picture in the moonlight.
