Following a long weekend in Sussex with the wife I returned late last night and we went out the sort the horse out this morning, We had a few birds on the paddock and I'd been seeing birds all weekend around the oaks down the A22 and A23 towards Brighton . So I was relieved when I received a call from DB saying he had no work did I fancy shooting, silly question. this was at 11.00 and I said I would try a defrost some decoys and get to his when I was ready which turned out to be 12.15 . We drove straight to the stubble fields we had shot previously and found a flight line running across the smallest field . This was wierd as the wind was a south easterly which we have never shot on this farm . We set up six frozen birds and the first two in the pattern went on the magnet which we had placed in the shade to the right of the hide just to give a bit of movement , We had a high holly hedge behind us and this cast a large shadow out into the field and we placed our shot birds out in the sun but we had a few crows and jackdaws come over from the back of us which adde to the tally. we shot till16.30 when it had all stopped and picked up fifty pigeons and thirtyseven corvids. None of the pigeons we shot had any barley in them only acorns

Another great post :good: Sorry to hear about the dog.

Can I ask what your hide is made of or is that top secret

The one in the picture is a normal NATO Cold War net with Idian Sari material cut into strips and woven in. The picture below is a net I made on holiday this year with shorter strips tied into a Greek Army net
