Hi last year I bought a shotgun from a dealer and was told I didn't need to inform the police as we are in the same force and his paper work covers both of us but now I have heard I needed to Inform them could you tell me who is right many thanks simon

It states all terms and conditions to be met regarding transactions on both the SGC and FAC unless I'm mistaken. It's been a while since I've looked.

To add to this; if it was last year and you've only just discovered you've boobed, just ring your FEO and come clean; they're human beings at the end of the day and if they have anything about them they'll understand it was a perfectly innocent mistake on your part. They are there to help, and not to jump on someone at every opportunity.

Thanks for your replys I intend to ring them first thing Monday when I read the notes on my license it states sales must be notified within 7 days but it doesn't say any thing about purchases also it states rfds have to notify the force that issues the ticket of the buyer even under different forces so is as clear as mud with its wording many thanks simon

Simon at Gilsan sports in Richmond does it for you every gun i have bought from him he has sent his bit into N/Yorks and mine into Cleveland

Hi just to let you know I spoke to the licensing department and they had the transfer on record and everything was ok but he said I should of informed them as well even though I signed a form at the Rfd just incase it gets lost in the post
