rimfire4969
That's a good price but unfortunately the other side of the country to me. Wish someone closer to home was offering the same deal I would take a day or two as I expect some friends would.

955i
Not wanting to cause any grief, but this is something that often puzzles me. A 200 bird shoot may well be £22.50 a bird, but I am guessing if I only shoot two then all I come away with is two £250 birds. I can beat that for free picking up roadkill (ignoring the fact you can buy a pheasant in the supermarket for less than £10) Am I missing something?. It's not about making sure you shoot your money's worth in weight. It's about getting your money's worth of sport and having an enjoyable day. markm
If you draw pegs, it's the luck of the draw. You may be in action all day or you may miss. A good shoot captain should try and spread the shooting out. Don't even ask what happens when you get someone who is less than sporting or likes their share plus some more. Let days are ideal for the people who cannot afford the the time being in a diy syndicate. Unfortunately you also get people who enjoy the cost of syndicate shooting and can make every shoot day but funnily, they need to work on shoot work days. That is even worse...... On a 200 bird day you will get lots of shooting, and if you manage to shoot 4:1 then you will fire about 100 shots on some really good drives you might shoot 8:1. It's all about the day which I love to be part of either shooting or beating.
