IEH
I have one but hate the way it clings to my mouth every time I breathe. Invariably resort to my old green woollen balaclava which serves as hat (when rolled) and face cover.
islandgun
I wear a veil in my normal day to day life but remove for shooting
oowee
I am fast coming to the opinion that Face Veils are made by folk who know nothing about shooting, comfort and the fact it rains from time to time......... about time I tried Duck Commander style face paint I think! I have the same opinion re a lot of shooting gear. Swivel seat with feet that sink and are two short. Flappers that don't flap. Hide poles with weak top hooks and narrow steps for pushing into ground. Carry bags from A1 make me laugh.
SuperGoose75
I have one but hate the way it clings to my mouth every time I breathe. Invariably resort to my old green woollen balaclava which serves as hat (when rolled) and face cover. Simple solution to that one is Cut out a mouth piece in the veil so you can breath normally,Thats what I done with mine when i first bought one whilst over in Canada a good few years ago and lets you use a call also. Truth be told I hate wearing the things Whilst shooting and very rarely ever do. Should it be balaclava's or Veils. Years ago I used to wear the heavy wollen balaclavas with the material leaves sowen on' whilst flighting or decoying Geese and I found them so clammy and uncomfortable and they def affected my shooting. I then tried a lighter one which I also did not like. I ended up using Army Two tone camo paint which felt alot better but was a ****** to wash off after. I have on the rare occasion tried the mud on the face but mostly dont bother with anything ,only a hat on the noggin whilst flighting at dawn and dusk and have shot my fair share of Birds. I do wear the light face veil with a piece cut out for my mouth whilst Shootung the Crows. Its mostly pulled down under my chin but is pulled up when crows are about. Have never worn gloves no matter how cold it has been, i just cant get the feel for a gun with gloves on. I have been out mornings when the hairs on the dogs back have been frozen and also the gun barrels and sometimes struggled getting the gun loaded with freezing hands but for me that was all part of Wildfowling. wildfowler.250
Always wear a balaclava 1) keeps the face warm 2) keeps you a bit dryer if it's raining 3) bit of protection if there's midges 4) some camouflage - no substitute for stating still though.
