39TDS
Well at least if they're controlled properly and legally we won't have to put up with all the stinking 'roadkill' left by farmers et al every few hundred yards. Do people actually believe these badgers have been run over? Hit one at speed and you'll need a new front end. Explain to my why a farmer having shot a badger would put it into their vehicle, drive onto a road and place the badger on the road. You probably don't know this but most farmers have big fields where it would be quite easy to bury them without any risk of being seen/caught. Another tip for you, buy a better car. I have hit badgers (completely by accident) and killed them on three separate occasions with no mark on my cars whatsoever. On each occasion the badger ran pretty much under the wheels, they are rather stupid when it comes to cars and I am not in the slightest bit surprised they get run over so regularly. The numbers of dead ones you see are a good indicator of just how out of control they are, that would be equally true if they had been shot and dumped. malkiserow
Put that in your pipe and smoke it Mr Brian May. Unleash the hedgehogs on your badger-fixated sentimental blinkered lunacy. ..... oh but more than the hedgehogs ....... think of all those hedgehog loving ladies who will march for hedgehog rights. Righty ho Mr Farmer, I knew there would be a logical explanation lol
Longbower
They are ripping the greens on the golf course , where I have 'permission' to pieces , Three sets., No hedgehogs (except old skins) ,Very few rabbits, and it was 'busy' with both!. Bees nests have been Dug out and consumed . The Head Green keeper , has tried everything, and is at his wits end. Between the badgers and the mink, not much survives. Scully
We find a lot of bees nests dug out on the old disused railway banking, and you need serious excavating tools to be able to do that.
Troosers Too
Clint 1 - I'd imagine you've got evidence for your accusation rather than lazily passing on, as fact, a slightly wild and unlikely rumour that you've heard. As 39TDS says, why haul the corpse all the way to a road to dump it when there are loads of easier & more secure alternatives to a farmer. While the deep rural streets of Wolverhampton may not be overrun nightly with badgers, you can rest assured that in many areas of the countryside badgers are a very regular sight to drivers at night. I've only ever hit one with the car (dead badger - no damage to car) but regularly have to brake hard to miss the black and white lumps as they trundle round the lanes at night. No. I'm not a farmer either.
Clint1
Yes, I'm sure your right. However, it's amazing how they are always neatly parked in the verge. Never in the middle of the road. I tend to stay out of 'Wolves' as much as possible, Ay don't spake the languige.
