redial
I know it won't cycle a 28 gram load. Is there a pigeon 30 / 32 gram load someone could recommend please. I only shoot clays for the love of it. Getting through 200 hundred ish a month. Thank you.
wraivi
It should have no problems with 28g loads, is the gas piston o' ring good & gas ports clean? I use an old remmy 1100 and cycles 28g fine. Seems there may be problem with your gun.
Danger-Mouse
Seems strange it won`t cycle a 28g cartridge. Might be worth giving it a good service. A mate of mine has one and his cycles lighter loads than that with no problems. You could be on dodgy ground shooting anything heavier at clays. Lots of grounds have a 28g limit. rovercoupe
Mine will cycle with 21g loads with only a couple per hundred that dont eject, 24 and 28g never had any problems.

TIGHTCHOKE
Blimey, I have used 21 gramme and 24 gramme loads through both of mine, they are polished and have good "O" rings and regularly cleaned gas ports.
TDS
You may have a magnum barrel with a single gas port and heavier magnum action sleeve These barrels can have difficulty cycling 28g cartridges.. Or if 2 gas ports , as previously mentioned , it may need a good clean Spin a small drill bit , by hand , in the ports...built up carbon can get very hard and restrict gas flow
welshwarrior
It should cycle 28gram 2 3/4" fine. Things to check clean gas ports, good o ring, springs are good. The gun is clean and lightly lubed.
redial
Thank you all. Very informative. I have fancied a1100 for sometime shame it has a 14, inch stock but could over come this with a pull on extension.
TDS
If you have not purchased the 1100 yet , I would consider a Rem 1187 Advantages are , multichoke , steel capable , 3" chambers , stainless steel mag tube , and wider & stronger extractor claw Not an expensive gun and not a lot more than an 1100

Not sure of the stock length but it`s in nice nick and has both skeet and trap barrels with it. Drop me a pm if you want his details. Mentalmac
I have a 1100 and it's fairly old, but 3 inch magnum and It cycles 28g fine. Wouldn't be as confident with 21g cycling albeit I'm sure it would but 28s are fine,
