billytheghillie
Most clay traps come with 50m release cable. Question is if I cut it, can I add on a extra length of cable, say another 25m? How long a cable can you put on the release pedal? Thanks
Danger-Mouse
I can`t see any reason why not, but if you want to be safe just buy some of those cheap plugs and link the sections together that way. That`s how our extensions work. Not sure of our longest but certainly 60-70m. As long as there are no breaks in the cable the range is pretty much up to you. johnphilip
Why not just fit a remote to it, i got one from Maplin and get over 100 yards from my trap.
beretta
Hello Dave, you can also get extensions for them so can run 100m no problem.
Kermit the frog
We have 100 metre releases, 0.75mm² flex and in one piece. Joining up two lengths of wire, causes a voltage drop (resistance), and as soon as trap battery drops a little it will not fire. kermit
webber
Put the money for the cable towards a decent radio control system. I can highly recommend the B R B system. webber

oldfarmer
BRB are great bits of kit. avoid the cheap ones as they have limited range and don't like obstacles. I use them all the time at the shooting ground and find them very reliable. John
